I've sent hundreds of invoices over the years and picked up a few things that genuinely make a difference — not just in how professional they look, but in how quickly clients pay them.

• Always include a due date, not just payment terms: "Net 30" is technically clear, but clients still manage to lose track of it. Putting an explicit due date like "Due: April 14, 2026" takes away any ambiguity. I noticed my average payment time dropped about 4 days when I switched to explicit due dates.
