๐๏ธWhy You’d Need to Delete PDF Pages (And Why I Use This Weekly)
A client sent me a 34-page contract last year. Pages 8 through 13 were an appendix covering a completely different deal โ wrong version, included by mistake. Editing PDFs in Acrobat Pro costs $23 a month, and I wasn’t going to pay that just to remove 6 pages. I tried this tool instead and had the cleaned-up file back to the client in about 45 seconds flat.
That kind of thing happens all the time. Scanners add blank pages between originals. Reports get emailed with internal notes still attached. Presentations get shipped to clients with “speaker only” slides at the back. Deleting those pages shouldn’t require expensive software or a trip to the IT department.
This tool removes pages entirely in your browser โ nothing uploads to any server, no account needed, and the remaining pages stay exactly as they were. Quality doesn’t change, fonts don’t get mangled, images stay sharp.

๐How to Delete Pages from a PDF โ Step by Step
The whole process takes under a minute:
1
Upload Your PDF
Click the upload area or drag your PDF in. Works with any page count โ a 2-pager or a 400-page manual, doesn’t matter.
2
Pick Your Pages
Click the thumbnail of any page you want removed โ it highlights in red. Or type page numbers manually like “2, 5, 8-12”.
3
Confirm & Delete
Check your selection looks right, then hit Delete Selected Pages. Processing happens instantly in your browser.
4
Download
Your trimmed PDF downloads immediately. Open it to confirm the right pages are gone before sending it anywhere.
๐ฅSituations Where Deleting PDF Pages Actually Matters
I’ve run into these more times than I can count. Here’s when it comes up:
- Scanner blank pages: Probably the most common one. Scanners insert blank pages after odd-numbered originals when you’re doing double-sided jobs. They’re useless in the final file. Select all of them and delete in one pass.
- Wrong version pages left in: Contracts, proposals, and reports often go through multiple revisions. Outdated pages from a previous draft sometimes hang around at the back. Stripping them out before the final send is something I do on almost every big document.
- Confidential sections: A 50-page report might have salary data or internal financials on pages 7โ10 that shouldn’t go to the full distribution list. Remove those pages, send the rest.
- Presentation speaker notes: Slide decks exported as PDFs often have notes pages or agenda slides at the end meant only for the presenter. Delete those before sharing with the audience.
- Phone photo PDFs: When you scan a document with your phone, you sometimes accidentally capture an extra photo or the desk surface. That becomes a wasted page in the PDF. Delete it in seconds.
- Merged documents with overlap: If you’ve combined several PDFs, you often end up with duplicate title pages or cover sheets in the middle. One quick delete cleans it up.

๐กTips That’ll Save You Time
- Use Invert for keeping just a few pages: If you want to keep only pages 2, 5, and 9 out of a 40-page document, it’s much faster to select those 3 pages, then click Invert โ now all the other 37 are selected for deletion. Saves a lot of clicking.
- Check the page count after: The download result tells you how many pages the new document has. Do a quick sanity check โ if you deleted 6 pages from a 34-page doc, you should have 28 left. Takes 2 seconds and prevents sending the wrong file.
- Blank pages show as blank thumbnails: They don’t always look obviously blank at small thumbnail size, but you’ll notice they have no visible content. Select those first, delete them, and your file size drops noticeably.
- Password-protected PDFs: You’ll need to remove the password first. Use our Remove Password tool, then come back here to delete the pages you want.
- After deleting, merge if needed: If you’re cleaning up multiple documents, use our Merge PDF tool to combine them all into one final clean file.
โFrequently Asked Questions
Can I delete multiple pages at once? +
Yes, and that’s the most common way people use this. Click as many thumbnails as you want โ each one gets highlighted in red when it’s marked for deletion. Or type something like “2, 4, 7-12” in the manual input and all those pages get removed together in one operation.
Will deleting pages affect the quality of the ones I keep? +
Not at all. The pages you keep are completely untouched โ same image resolution, same fonts, same embedded links and form fields. The tool removes the specified pages from the document structure without reprocessing or recompressing anything else. Your output is just a lighter version of the original.
What happens if I try to delete all pages? +
The tool won’t let you. A PDF needs at least one page to remain a valid document. If you select all pages, the Delete button stays disabled. You need to leave at least one page in the document before the operation can run.
Are my files stored or seen by anyone? +
No. Everything runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your PDF never leaves your device โ there’s no upload to any server at all. Close the tab and it’s gone. That’s different from tools like ilovepdf or Smallpdf that do send your file to their servers.
Can I delete pages from a password-protected PDF? +
Not directly โ password-protected files need to be unlocked first. Use our Remove Password tool to strip the protection, then come back here to delete the pages you want. It adds about 30 seconds to the process but works cleanly every time.
Is there a page limit or file size limit? +
No page limit โ a 500-page document processes the same as a 5-page one. File size is handled by your browser’s memory and works fine for files up to several hundred MB on any modern device. Most everyday PDFs are well under 50MB, so this is rarely a concern.
