💡Tips for Best Conversion Results
- JPG quality 85–92% is the sweet spot: At 88%, the visual difference from 100% is imperceptible to most people, but file size is 40–60% smaller. For web thumbnails and social media, 75–80% is perfectly fine. Only use 95–100% if the image will be further edited or printed at large sizes.
- Converting JPG to PNG does NOT improve quality: A JPG that has compression artifacts will still have those artifacts as a PNG — it's now just a lossless container for already-degraded image data. PNG conversion prevents any further quality loss on re-saves, but doesn't recover what's already lost.
